1 Reach Out

We’re so glad you’ve found us. All that’s left to do is to get in touch. We’ll help you find the right therapist, and they’ll be there to guide you the rest of the way.

Call, email or book a Matching Consultation at a time that’s convenient for you. We’d love to meet you.

2 Get Matched

Research shows the relationship with your therapist is key to healing. Trust makes it easier to open up and provides support when things get tough. This mutual trust and commitment helps you push through challenges and reach your inner summits.

That’s why we take Good Fit seriously, matching you with a therapist with the right Expertise, a Style that resonates with you, understands your mental Processing, shares meaningful Commonality, and is convenient to Access. And if you feel like it’s not a good match, we’ll set you up with another therapist on our team, and your first visit with them will be on us.

  • Expertise

When it comes to getting where you want to go, expertise matters. We make sure that you’re matched with a therapist who has the skills, training and experience to support you with what you're going through and help you achieve your goals.

When matching Expertise, we consider things like:

    • What your concerns and symptoms are
    • What you want to get out of therapy
    • What type of therapy interests you, and which may be most helpful for you

By aligning your wants and needs with a therapist who has the right skills and expertise, we ensure you get support that's tailored to you. When you and your therapist are matched in this area, therapy is more effective, targeted, and relevant to your needs.

  • Therapy isn’t a one-size-fits-all experience. We all appreciate different styles of support. One person may want a therapist who takes a gentle, empathetic approach, while another may want a more direct, interactive style. Since how you connect with your therapist is just as important—if not more important—than their expertise, we take the time to match you with a therapist whose relational style aligns with yours.

When matching Relational Style, we consider things like:

    • How you like to be engaged with
    • How you like to express yourself
    • What type of relationship you want with your therapist

When our relational styles are aligned, it’s easier to create a connection that feels safe, supportive, and natural, paving the way for meaningful progress and better therapeutic outcomes.

  • We all have a “mental language” — how we process information and approach problems. Some of us are very practical and detail-oriented and thrive on structured, methodical approaches. Others are more conceptual and big-picture-focused, preferring things to be more flexible and open-ended. We match you with a therapist who speaks your mental language and can tailor your therapy to your way of thinking.

When matching Mental Processing, we consider things like:

    • Whether you’d like to work through specific problems or explore overarching themes
    • Whether you prefer a structured, plan-oriented approach or a more adaptable, flexible approach
    • Whether you learn better through imagery and metaphor or concrete explanations and examples

When our “mental languages” match, therapy is more seamless and effective. We think about and approach things in similar ways, making it easier to feel understood, take in new information, and grow.

  • Sometimes it’s easier to connect with someone when we have something in common—when we feel like they can relate to our experience and understand on a level other people can’t. Maybe it would be helpful if your therapist had a similar personal experience. Maybe it would be nice if they were a parent like you, or at a similar life stage, or understand what it’s like to be part of a marginalized community. What’s important to you is important to the therapy process, which makes it important to us.

When matching Commonality, we consider things like:

    • Your upbringing, personal history, and/or how you identify
    • Your life experiences
    • Cultural, religious or spiritual background

The strongest bridges between people are built on common ground. Speaking with someone who really gets it helps us feel genuinely seen, fosters familiarity and trust, and makes it easier to open up and engage more deeply. That’s why we do everything we can to recommend a therapist who can relate to and respect the things that matter most to you.

  • If you can’t access therapy, it doesn’t matter how skilled your therapist is or how strong your connection is with them. That’s why we prioritize matching you with a therapist who meets your practical requirements, ensuring that the logistics of therapy don't become a barrier to receiving care.

When matching Access, we consider things like:

    • Whether you want to meet in person or online
    • Whether you have specific insurance requirements
    • Whether you need an accessible space

Ensuring these practical aspects are aligned with your needs makes starting and continuing therapy more convenient and straightforward. When therapy is more accessible, you’re more likely to engage regularly and consistently, which is crucial for effective treatment and lasting change.

3 Start Your Journey

Once you’ve been matched with the right therapist, they’ll be there to guide you through your therapy journey.

Until then, you may have a few questions. Below are some of the most common questions people have when first starting therapy. If you don’t find the information you’re looking for here, don’t worry - we’ll be more than happy to answer any and all of your questions during our free Matching Consultation.

  • Do you offer therapy in person or virtually?

Both! We’re happy to meet with you in the way that is most convenient for you. We can do it in person, virtually, over the phone, or a combination of all three–whatever works best for you.

  • We’re happy to see you as often as you like. You’re welcome to book weekly, biweekly, or at whatever pace feels right to you.

That being said, in our experience, getting into a regular rhythm with therapy can be very helpful, as it makes it much easier to stay consistent and motivated, leading to better outcomes and a more profound sense of relief.

  • We make the logistical part of therapy as simple and convenient as possible.

If you’d like, you can schedule a standing appointment with us at a recurring time. Alternatively, if your availability changes or you just want to manage your appointments, our online booking system makes booking, rescheduling, and cancelling appointments quick and easy.

  • Our fees range from $200-$300 per hour (60 minutes). There’s no tax, and the fees are eligible for reimbursement by most health plans.

  • While we always recommend checking with your insurance company because plans can differ, all our therapists are regulated healthcare professionals, which means they are eligible for coverage. If your insurance plan covers Registered Psychotherapy, Registered Social Work, or Naturopathic Medicine, you will be able to claim our services.

  • The Matching Consultation is a complimentary 20-30 minute phone call with one of our founders.

During this call, Sara or Krysti will ask you a variety of questions to determine if one of our therapists would be a good fit for you, and if so, who would be best. We’ll ask a few questions about your reasons for seeking therapy, but most of our questions will be about our matching dimensions. For examples of the kinds of things we might ask, check out our “Therapist Matching” section above.

  • If you work with one of our therapists and decide within the first few sessions that it’s not a good fit, no worries, we’ve got you covered. Just reach out to one of our founders - we’ll set you up with someone else on our team and cover your first visit with them.
