My Story

Do more. Stay busy. Do well. Get it right. Accomplish, and don’t look back.

For decades, I carried this mantra within me and worshiped the parts of me that reinforced its existence. I placed these over-productive and perfectionist parts on a pedestal and made all the necessary sacrifices without asking the deeper questions. And I did well. I got to places.

The problem with this mantra is that there is no endpoint.

One achievement blends into another, and momentary busyness morphs into the status quo just to keep up. All the while, my body was “keeping the score” of the pressure and mental exhaustion I carried. Not long after, life threw me a couple of curve balls that overwhelmed my inner resources. So I had to pause and ask myself the deeper questions I had pushed aside for so long.

Why keep so busy?

What is fueling this infinite need to accomplish?

And when will it be enough?

I began to explore these themes in my personal healing journey. I had to make big and small changes. I had to let go of old habits that had kept me safe for decades and to push back against my inner critics. I had to learn to savour every inch of growth and hold space for my shortcomings with compassion and care. Over time, I noticed subtle shifts in my nervous system and way of being in the world… a new path forward was finally forged.

Through this journey and my encounters as a therapist, I’ve discovered the profound resilience of the human spirit and the transformative potential of our body. We are human, so we are complex by nature. We are whole and in pieces all at once. Together, we can navigate the imprints of old wounds, uncovering inner strength and reclaiming a sense of peace within.
